Hiding The King
Scribes may protect their Kings (original and Charlatan) in several ways.
One way is by helping the original King create an Alliance as discussed on the previous page. This is because a King (or Scribe) that is "hiding" inside the Dungeon cannot become captured by the opponent!!
Another protective strategy is when a Scribe on the main playing board Hides a King in a different way. When a King (original or Charlatan) occupies a square protected by a Scribe of the same color, on a subsequent move that Scribe may then "pull" the King to another square also protected by the same Scribe!!
A Scribe inside the Dungeon may Hide a King sitting near the Dungeon by "pulling" that King to another square on the main playing board also protected by the same Scribe!! But once a Scribe does so, it must then move out of the Dungeon and onto the main playing area of the chess board.
Also, a Scribe sitting on the playing board but near the Dungeon may "pull" the King out of the Dungeon to another square also protected by that same Scribe!!
A Scribe (or the original King) that moves out of the Dungeon, may not return to the Dungeon for the remainder of the game.
