Charlatan King
When a King creates an Alliance a Charlatan King assumes the original King's role on the main playing board while the original King "hides" in the Dungeon.
A Charlatan King is in every way identical to the original King, with the sole exception that a Charlatan King may not create an Alliance. Still only one (1) Alliance and one (1) Castle are allowed per player per game.
The original King may "hide" inside the Dungeon for the entire game while the Charlatan King moves about on the main playing board in the original King's place. So long as the original King remains inside the Dungeon, it may not become captured by the opponent!
But once the Charlatan King is captured, the original King must then move out of the Dungeon and onto the main chess playing area.
Both Kings (original and Charlatan) may be put in check at the same time! But the opponent may capture only one (1) of them on the very next turn! So a Charlatan King may be sacrificed to protect the original King!!
Both a Charlatan King and the original King must be captured before an opponent wins!
It is not necessary for the original King to wait for the Charlatan King to become captured before moving out of the Dungeon and onto the main playing board. (Though this usually is not recommended, since protecting two Kings on the main chess playing area at the same time can be very difficult!)
